Hi all! My name is Sue Grumann and I am an art educator in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I have been teaching now for 25 years and absolutely love what I do. Each day is unique and exciting because I get to work with awesome students and I get to help them learn and create! I try to design lessons that allow my students many choices so that they can have more creative control over what they are making and learning. Take a look at what my kids are doing by clicking on the links to the left and I hope you enjoy their creations!
6th Grade Whistles!

My first rotation of sixth graders is starting their ceramic whistle designs. The artists are very excited. The whistles can be anything that can be formed around a round chamber. To the left you see a whistle created last year of an upright vacuum cleaner. I love this example of thinking outside the box!

Well the results are in and they are fabulous. My IDEA students designed graffiti tags and created a composition on their portfolio covers. They really rose to the challenge!
We hope you enjoy them!

Peter Max style compositions.
Student artists in my IMAGE classes were introduced to the art of Peter Max. Then they were required to create an image of their own in his style. Each student made two preliminary sketches and chose the one they liked the best. Students used crayons and permanent black marker as their mediums. Crayons can be used to get very bold colors like the ones Peter Max uses. The results were beautiful and varied! Take a look!
