Students in the adaptive art class made wonderful papier mache sculptures of birds and clowns. The armatures were created from plastic grocery bags stuffed with crumpled newspapers and the bases were plaster filled baby shoes. Students embellished the sculptures with construction paper, tissue paper, tagboard, feathers and many other items. The results were colorful and bright!
In addition, this was a wonderful opportunity for the students to collaborate with their peers. Many wonderful art helpers were involved in assisting the students with hot gluing and other steps in the sculpting process.
